The game has twenty-six wheel settings and your wheel's software has half a dozen more, and they fight each other if you set the same thing twice.
A wheel that works perfectly in a two-year-old Forza can still misbehave in a new one. The game’s makers lead their supported-wheels guide with this. It applies on Xbox too — plug the wheel into a PC, update it there, and put it back. No setting on this page can fix a wheel the game does not recognise properly.
Two more from the same source: plug the base straight into a port on the machine, not through a hub — and if you have no force feedback, another device may have claimed “Device 1”, which is the one the game sends forces to.
Pick a wheelbase above and the settings appear here.
